HotStreak: one wrong cell ends the run
HotStreak is an endless solo run. Each round you look at a GTA V location and choose the grid cell it sits in, and one wrong answer ends everything. The grid gets finer as you go. It suits players who want a clean, high-stakes test of their GTA 5 map knowledge.

How HotStreak works
Every round gives you 30 seconds at one fixed spot: you can look around and zoom, but not walk. Instead of dropping a pin, you choose a cell on a grid laid over the map. A correct cell extends your streak, while a wrong or missing answer ends the run on the spot.
The grid starts at 4 × 4. After every 5 correct answers it doubles, to 8 × 8, then 16 × 16 and finally 32 × 32. The first 5 rounds only ask for a broad area of the map; after 15 correct answers, each cell is small enough to split a single neighborhood.
How the streak is ranked
HotStreak counts correct answers in a row rather than points, and there is no speed bonus. The weekly board ranks runs by streak length, then by average time on successful answers, so a fast run beats a slower one of the same length. A run needs at least one correct answer to count.
Between rounds you can press Finish run to bank your streak and end on your own terms. Abandoning the game does not bank it. Custom games can change the starting grid and how many correct answers it takes to tighten it, but only the official preset ranks.
A solo-only mode
HotStreak is solo only. There are no opponents and no shared clock, just you and the streak, which makes it a pure personal-best mode. Because every run ends at the first mistake, sessions are short and easy to fit between longer games.
It pairs well with Classic practice. When a run ends, the result shows your cell next to the correct one, pointing straight at the parts of Los Santos and Blaine County you are least sure about. Those are the areas worth exploring on foot next.
HotStreak tips
Early rounds are about quadrants. On a 4 × 4 grid, telling city from desert, coast or the north is usually enough, so answer quickly to keep your average time low.
Watch the cell borders. When a location could sit near a line, look for one extra clue before choosing, since a near miss ends the run like any other.
Use roads and coastlines as rulers on finer grids. Knowing which side of a freeway, river or shoreline a place is on often decides between 2 neighboring cells.
Bank before a jump you are unsure of. Finish run after a success locks in the streak you already have.
Never let the timer expire. A missing answer ends the streak, so a best guess is always better than none.
